Use & Care
Use & Care
Before reading the Use & Care instructions, please check packaging for component parts included with your purchase.
OVENWARE & GLASS COVERS
USE- PYREX ovenware can go directly from refrigerator or freezer to a microwave, convection, or preheated conventional oven. Add a small amount of liquid to the ovenware vessel prior to baking foods that release liquids while cooking.
- Add a small amount of liquid to the ovenware vessel prior to baking foods that release liquids while cooking.
- Oven must be preheated before inserting glassware.
- To loosen baked-on food, allow glass to cool, then soak. If scouring is necessary, use only plastic or nylon cleaning pads with nonabrasive cleansers.
- See OVENWARE, GLASSWARE, PARTS/ ACCESSORIES SAFETY (below).
PLASTIC COVERS
USE- Microwave oven, refrigerator, and freezer. Wash cover before first use. Condensation may develop on underside of cover. Remove cover with care. Allow dish and cover to defrost 15 minutes after freezer storage. To prevent permanent stains and blisters, AVOID REHEATING foods high in oil, fat, sugar or tomatoes. DO NOT overfill dish.
- Plastic covers are for microwave and storage use only, and are BPA free
- For better sealing results, install cover with vent open. To minimize leaking, dripping and ensure proper seating or sealing of cover to dish, exert downward pressure at dish rim when applying cover. Once cover is in position depress center lightly and hold to evacuate excess air, close vent.
- Open vent (lift) for microwave use. Make sure vent tab is closed during transportation and storage. DO NOT overfill container. Deluxe vented storage covers fit on bottom for easy store/stack nesting. For ease of fit, open vent when applying cover to bottom of dish.
- Wash by hand or in dishwasher top rack only. To minimize staining on plastic covers, wash immediately with warm soapy water.
- Clean vent tab by pressing tab out of cover from underside.
- See OVENWARE, GLASSWARE, PARTS/ ACCESSORIES SAFETY (below).
THERMAL PACKS
USE- Heat the “HOT PACK” in microwave oven according to times listed on pack. Heating times may vary, depending on the wattage of your microwave oven. When the maximum time has elapsed, or pack starts to expand, TURN OFF the microwave. If pack expanded during use, check to make sure it is not leaking.
- Place the “HOT PACK” in the “hot pack pouch” and place in bottom of serving basket. Never use “HOT PACK” without the pouch.
- Clean with a sponge or cloth using soap and hot water. Make sure the “HOT PACK” is completely cooled. To prevent mildew, wipe dry before storing.
- See OVENWARE, GLASSWARE, PARTS/ ACCESSORIES SAFETY (below).
BASKETS
CARE- To clean, wipe with a slightly damp, soapy cloth. Dry with paper towels. DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER. Should basket become wet, place appropriate PYREX dish in basket, place on protected surface and allow to dry completely. Use only a dry basket on tablecloth or table. To remove food from crevices, gently scrub with a soft brush. Baskets are for serving purposes only.
- See OVENWARE, GLASSWARE, PARTS/ ACCESSORIES SAFETY (below).
OTHER SERVING ACCESSORIES

PYREX OVENWARE, GLASSWARE, PARTS/ ACCESSORIES
SAFETYAs with all glass products, you must exercise an appropriate degree of care, especially when cooking food at high temperatures. There are three primary risks associated with using glassware for cooking: (1) breakage due to a sudden temperature change applied to the glassware; (2) breakage due to impact if the glassware is dropped or knocked against a hard object; and (3) burning when handling hot bakeware.
- NEVER USE on or under a flame or other direct heat source, including on a stove top, under a broiler, on a grill or in a toaster oven.
- AVOID SUDDEN TEMPERATURE CHANGES and DO NOT hot glassware; place hot glassware on a wet or cool surface, directly on countertop or metal surface, or in sink; or handle hot glassware with wet cloth. Allow hot glassware to cool on a cooling rack, potholder or dry cloth. Be sure to allow hot glassware to cool as provided above before washing, refrigerating or freezing.
- Avoid handling hot glassware (including ware with silicone gripping surfaces) without dry potholders.
- DO NOT use in microwave to hold or support popcorn bags, microwave convenience foods with special browning wrappers, etc.
- DO NOT use to pop corn, caramelize sugar, or deep fat fry.
- DO NOT overheat oil or butter in microwave. Use minimum amount of cooking time.
- Handling your glassware without an appropriate degree of care could result in breakage, chipping, cracking or severe scratching. DO NOT use or repair any glassware that is chipped, cracked or severely scratched.
- DO NOT drop or hit glassware against a hard object or strike utensils against it.
- Be careful when handling broken glass because pieces may be extremely sharp and difficult to locate.
- DO NOT use accessories in oven or microwave, under broiler, or on top of stove unless otherwise indicated on item.
- Use caution when placing plastic cover on dish and removing plastic cover from dish. When removing cover, direct steam away from you.
- DO NOT use plastic cover in convection, toaster or conventional oven.
- DO NOT HEAT "HOT PACK" CONTINOUSLY in microwave longer than the MAXIMUM times listed on the pack. Stop heating immediately if pack expands.
- DO NOT USE THERMAL PACK in conventional, toaster or convection oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine or dryer. DO NOT BOIL THERMAL PACK.
- “HOT PACK” will become HOT when heating: Use potholders.
- IMMEDIATELY DISCARD thermal pack that is punctured, or has a split or damaged seam. DO NOT ATTEMPT to repair or continue to use. AVOID EYE CONTACT AND DO NOT INGEST liquid contained in thermal pack.
- KEEP THERMAL PACKS OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.
- Thermal packs are NOT FOR USE on any part of body or for any use other than described in these Use & Care instructions.
