500g beef

half a white radish (300g)

2 tbsp olive oil

300g yellow onions

3 tbsp red rice wine

10g ginger

a few star anises

10 cloves garlic

a few bay leaves

1-2 stalks of spring onion

1 tbsp peppercorns

2-3 cups of water / beef stock


  1. Add star anise, bay leaves and peppercorns into a seasoning pouch and set aside. Cut the beef into pieces and blanch. Roll cut the white radish and set aside.
  2. Using the World Kitchen Smart Pot “Stew” function, press the touch screen on the knob to start cooking. The time can be adjusted according to the amount of ingredients used or personal preference. The adjustable range is 1 to 12 hours.
    The default cooking time on this mode is 120 minutes, which is adjustable by pressing the “Timer” button.
  3. The cooking status will display on the screen with a red light on the knob.
  4. Preheat the World Kitchen Smart Pot for 1-2 minutes. Add olive oil, garlic, ginger and stir fry. Fry till fragrant and add in the spring onion.
  5. Place beef into the pot. Stir fry until evenly browned.
  6. Add onions and red rice wine. Stir fry well.
  7. Add the seasoning pouch, water/stock and white radish. Cover well and leave it to cook for 30 minutes.
  8. Allow the stew to simmer and stir occasionally.
  9. Serve in Corelle dinnerware and enjoy.
